The first squadron of new high speed buses including 70 two-cabin left-door buses joined the bus fleet in Tehran at a ceremony held in Tehran Saturday attended by Tehran Mayor Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
According to shahr.ir, with these buses joining the bus fleet in Tehran, room will be made for 175000 more people to use the city transport network in the capital.
The capacity of each new high speed bus with a length of 18 meters and to run on an 18-km lane, is 200 passengers, both seated and standing.
These buses are first part of imported buses, with the main parts including engine, axle, and gear box manufactured in Germany. The body is under the license of Germany with the assembly line in China. The high ceiling of the bus makes it more comfortable for standing passengers. Also, its short floor is very comfortable for getting in and out, particularly for the disabled persons.
